Official Rules

1. Eligibility: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Voting is open to all legal residents of Utah, eighteen (18) years of
age and older by entry date. No purchase necessary to enter or win.

2. How to Vote: Voting begins at 12:00 AM May 1, 2016 and ends at 11:59 PM May 31, 2016. Visit the Readers’
Favorite official page at http://events.standard.net/Readers-Favorite to cast your vote. Submit your vote by clicking
on the VOTE button, or by writing in the open text box and then clicking on the VOTE button to submit. The entries
must have a physical store located within the Standard-Examiner’s home delivery area in order to be eligible. A
maximum of one vote per person, per category per day will be accepted. The Standard-Examiner will disqualify
multiple submissions from the same voter on the same day.

Paper ballot submissions may also be accepted at participating sponsors businesses. For a complete list of
businesses accepting paper ballots please visit http://events.standard.net/readers-favorite You may also mail an
official ballot, found only in the Standard-Examiner daily print edition or ePaper to Standard-Examiner, attn.:
READERS FAVORITE POB 12790, Ogden, Ut 84412-2790.

All ballots must be received by 11:59PM May 31, 2016 to be eligible for tabulation.

3. Readers’ Favorite Winners: Winners will be determined by the total number of votes received online and from
paper ballots during the voting period. The top winner in each category will be published in the Readers’ Favorite
Winners Guide July 14, 2016. In the event of a tie, both businesses will receive the award/recognition.
Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries. Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the
transmission of this promotion and award the prize from among the eligible entries received prior to the date of the
withdrawal. Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules. Failure to comply with these rules may result in
disqualification from this promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify from this promotion any
person or business it believes has intentionally violated these rules. Any questions regarding the number of entries
submitted or the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion, and the
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any
aspect of the contest. Entrants are prohibited from obtaining votes by any fraudulent or inappropriate means,
including without limitation, paying for votes.

4. Readers’ Favorite Designation: Only the business with the most votes in each category will receive the
Readers’ Favorite designation. Winners may use the Readers’ Favorite logo, mark or symbol in their internal and
external marketing/advertising materials for a period of one year following the designation. The Reader’s Favorite
logo, mark or symbol cannot be altered in any way without written consent from the Standard-Examiner.

5. Winner Notification & Award Claim: Community members, nominees and winners will be invited to a Readers’
Favorite Awards Banquet on July 14, 2016 to be recognized and claim their prize. Standard-Examiner and
sponsors cannot be held liable for any technical, hardware, software or other transmission failures of any kind, lost
or unavailable network connections or incomplete, distorted or delayed computer transmissions, incomplete or late
newspaper delivery, act of God, inability to print or deliver the Standard-Examiner, regardless of cause. The
Standard-Examiner has the final decision and right to include or exclude rules at any time during the promotion

6. Conditions: If for any reason the Contest is not capable of being conducted as planned due to any cause
beyond the control of Sponsor, including but not limited to any event or cause which corrupts or affects the
administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole
discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and disqualify any individual who may have caused
any such problem. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any theft or destruction, unauthorized access to, or
alteration of entries. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay
in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration
of entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problem or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines,
computer online systems, servers or provider, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received by
Sponsor on account of technical problems or delays, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other
person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this contest. CAUTION:
ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE
LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD
SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES.

7. Release: Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission for Standard-Examiner to use winner’s name,
photograph, address (city and state only) and testimonials in printed or other media, whether now known or
hereafter developed, in perpetuity, in any manner it deems appropriate in connection with promoting this or any
other contest and/or promotion sponsored by it, without further compensation to the winner. By entering contest,
participant agrees to a voluntary opt in to any and all Standard-Examiner complementary products and promotions.
Ability to opt out is available by contacting Member Services in person at the Standard-Examiner 332 Standard
Way Ogden, UT 84404, during business hours or by calling 801-625- 4400 on said products and promotions.
Participants agree (a) to release and hold Sponsor, its parent, affiliate, and subsidiary companies, and all of their
respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents harmless from any and all liability for any
injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including death, or property damage resulting in whole or in part, directly or
indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a prize or participation in this Contest; (b) all causes of
action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without
resort to any form of class action; and (c) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-
of- pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs.

8. Privacy: The Standard-Examiner and Standard.net is committed to respecting the privacy of our readers,
standard.net users, and contest participants. Any personal information provided to the Standard-Examiner is used
only for purposes necessary to provide the Standard-Examiner and affiliates products and services. Information
participants provide in connection with Readers’ Favorite is subject to the Standard-Examiner’s privacy policy.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any
other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal,
these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or
illegal provision were not contained herein. IN NO EVENT SHALL SPONSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY
CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN
ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THE DAMAGES. IN ANY EVENT THE MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY
OF SPONSOR TO ANY PERSON DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY RELATING TO THIS PROMOTION OR THE
AWARD, USE OR ENJOYMENT OF ANY PRIZE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE SUM OF $5.00.
