Forty Under 40 Entry Form:

“Areesh Ahmed began selling baseball cards online as a teenager to earn spending money. As years went on he began buying overstocked products from local businesses and selling them for profit online. Areesh earned a business degree and partnered with his brother Avais to start a very successful e-commerce company called Shoeta, based in Kaysville, UT.

Shoeta is now a multi-million dollar company and growing, with downtown Kaysville still the primary location. Areesh and Avais have started additional e-commerce companies within Ahmed Investments. They won “best boot-strapped business” from Northfront Entrepreneurial Alliance in 2010.

The Ahmeds are generous in their success. As University of Utah graduates, they give back to their alma mater, having started a scholarship fund for students who have a diverse background and have excelled in community service. They are active in service to the Islamic community as well. Parents Shiekh and Fahmida Ahmed immigrated to Kaysville in the mid-1980’s, taught their children great values, and everyone’s efforts have produced a family business that benefits the surrounding community.” – Lorene Kamalu
