Forty Under 40 Entry Form:
“I believe that Chris Bodily deserves to be selected for the “Forty Under 40” because he is one of the most influential local artists in Utah. Beyond his stunning commitment to his craft, Chris is a compassionate individual. Chris attends local art events each year. At these events, he is often approached by aspiring artists seeking advice about the business of art. Chris is generous with his time and advice because he has a strong desire to see Utah’s artistic community thrive. Because of this desire, Chris has collaborated with local organizations like Nurture The Creative Mind, Indie Ogden, the Ogden Arts Festival and more.
Chris had garnered many accolades for his artwork and illustration. In 2013, he was awarded an Arty Award by City Weekly for one of his illustration exhibits. That same year, Chris was also selected as Indie Ogden’s Local Artist of the Year. In 2012 and 2013, Chris was awarded the Del Close Award for Best Illustration by the iO West Theater in Los Angeles, California. Most recently, Chris was selected for the People’s Choice Award at the 2015 Utah Arts Festival. Chris’s artwork can often be seen in local magazines like SLUG Magazine, City Weekly and Utah Stories. Not only does Chris participate in the local art scene, but he participates in the global art scene as well. From Germany to Taiwan, Chris has been a positive example of what the top of Utah has to offer. I feel that he deserves this award because of his positive attitude, his commitment to his craft and his influential involvement in Utah’s art scene.” – Chelsea Maki
